COOPERATION AGREEMENT SIGNED WITH BAEKSEOK UNIVERSITY, SOUTH KOREA
Recently, the leadership of Dong-A University of Technology had a visit and working session with Baekseok University and Baekseok University of Culture (South Korea) regarding cooperation exchange between the universities.
Baekseok University is located in Cheonan City, Chungcheong Province, in the central part of South Korea. It is an ideal location for international students, as it takes only 30 minutes to reach the busiest area of the city. The university is well-known not only for its high-quality education but also for its spacious campus, modern facilities, and the special care shown by professors towards every student.
Currently, Baekseok University has over 16,000 students, including many international students from countries such as Japan, Vietnam, Mongolia, etc. Baekseok boasts a spacious campus with complete facilities, including a dining hall, bookstore, optometry room, photo studio, beauty salon, sports area, and modern dormitories.
During the recent business trip to South Korea, Dong-A University of Technology had the opportunity to visit and work with Baekseok University (South Korea). Both parties agreed and signed a cooperation agreement covering the following areas:
- Exchange of lecturers and research staff
- Student interaction
- Joint research activities
- Academic workshops, conferences, and joint organizations
- Exchange of academic materials, publications, and information
- Short-term study programs
- Exchange of cultural training items
Among the various agreements, the two universities emphasized student exchange and the 2+1+2 cooperation program.
1. Student Exchange Program: This is a student exchange program between Dong-A University of Technology and Baekseok University. Both universities send exchange students to study at each other’s institutions for each semester, with the exchange period ranging from 6 months to 1 year. Students will study courses related to the Korean language and culture during their stay.
2. 2+1+2 Dual Degree Program: This program allows students from Dong-A University of Technology, after completing 2 years of study at their home institution, to continue their university education in their field of specialization at Baekseok University. Upon graduation, students who meet the requirements can receive a bachelor’s or engineering degree from Baekseok University.
Baekseok University recognizes the transcripts of students who have studied at Dong-A University of Technology for 2 years, so students from their 2nd year onward can complete the dual degree program at Baekseok University.
3. Master’s Program at Baekseok University, South Korea
This program allows students from Dong-A University of Technology, after graduation, to continue their studies at the Master’s level at Baekseok University, South Korea. For students from Dong-A University, they will receive a scholarship covering at least 50% of the tuition fees at Baekseok University, be exempted from the TOPIK (Korean Language Proficiency Test) certificate, and be eligible for an E-Visa (electronic visa).
For Baekseok University of Culture, both universities have agreed and signed a cooperation agreement based on the following contents:
- Exchange of lecturers and research staff
- Student interaction
- Joint research activities
- Academic workshops, conferences, and joint organizations
- Exchange of academic materials, publications, and information
- Short-term study programs
- Exchange of cultural training items
Above is the content and program of the cooperation agreement signed between Dong-A University of Technology and Baekseok University, Baekseok University of Culture. The validity of the signed agreement is 2 years from the year of signing.
